3 cousins drown in Ganga whereas attending Chhath puja festivities | India Information

PATNA: Chhath Puja festivities became a tragedy for a household in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district as three cousins drowned whereas taking tub within the river Ganga as a part of the first-day ritual on Tuesday. In Begusarai district, too, two individuals drowned in separate incidents. The deceased teenagers in Bhagalpur have been a part of a bunch of relations, comprising three ladies and 5 kids, who had gone to Mohanpur Ghat to take a holy dip and provide prayers on ‘nahay-khay’, the primary day of Chhath. “One of the children waded deep into the waters and got swept away by the strong currents. The four other children went to his rescue, but they all started drowning..,” stated sub-divisional police officer Arjun Gupta.
