A Scottish Conservative MSP has apologised after branding ally Murdo Fraser’s celebration management marketing campaign as “awful”.
In a collection of posts by chance printed as standing updates to his WhatsApp profile, Stephen Kerr criticised Mr Fraser’s bid regardless of publicly backing him.
“I’m beginning to wish I’d nominated Meghan,” Mr Kerr wrote, in reference to Mr Fraser’s management rival and present Scottish Tory deputy chief Meghan Gallacher.
He added: “Murdo’s campaign is awful.”

Mr Kerr, MSP for Central Scotland and former chief whip of the celebration at Holyrood, additionally questioned Mr Fraser’s resolution to publicise a web-based assembly for councillors with MSP Graham Simpson, the transport spokesperson.
Mr Kerr wrote: “Really?”
He added: “Graham Simpson knows zilch about working with councillors.”
Mr Kerr claimed his feedback had been taken “out of context” and is continuous to help Mr Fraser.
He stated: “I’ve identified Murdo practically all of my grownup life and I’m sure he’s the chief we now want.
“He has the right instincts to be an outstanding Scottish Conservative Party leader. As we have already seen in this leadership campaign, he has the vision, the plan and the passion to rebuild our party.”
Mr Kerr stated he was “delighted” to appoint Mr Fraser for the function of celebration chief.
He added: “In a non-public dialog, in feedback taken out of context, I expressed some issues about one facet of an upcoming occasion. The individual with whom I used to be having the personal dialog is an in depth good friend
“It’s regrettable that after we are having such an necessary public debate about the way forward for our celebration, that a part of a non-public dialog is taken out of context.
“I fully support Murdo as our next party leader.”

Mr Fraser, the MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, is among the frontrunners within the contest.
A spokesperson for his management marketing campaign stated: “Stephen has apologised to Murdo for his feedback which he says had been taken out of context, and is evident that Murdo is one of the best candidate for management.
“Murdo has been heartened by the enthusiastic response he has received from party members across Scotland with more and more signing up every day to his message of real change, both for the Scottish Conservatives and the country.”

Six Scottish Tory MSPs have introduced bids to succeed Douglas Ross as celebration chief.
Mr Fraser, Ms Gallacher, Russell Findlay, Brian Whittle, Liam Kerr and Jamie Greene have every thrown their hats into the ring.
The candidates have till 22 August to gather 100 nominations from celebration members to face within the election.
The competition is scheduled to complete on 27 September – forward of the UK Conservative Social gathering revealing Rishi Sunak’s successor on 2 November.
