  • United Airways flight 198 with service from Los Angeles to Shanghai, carrying 257 passengers and 13 crew members, was compelled to show round when one of many pilots realized they forgot their passport. United instructed Fortune “customers were provided with meal vouchers and compensation.”

On Saturday, March 22, over 250 passengers flying from Los Angeles to Shanghai needed to flip round roughly two hours into their flight as a result of one of many pilots working the airplane forgot their passport.

“The pilot did not have their passport onboard,” United instructed Fortune in an announcement. “We arranged for a new crew to take our customers to their destination that evening. Customers were provided with meal vouchers and compensation.”

United didn’t reply to Fortune’s query in regards to the specifics of the compensation, however one passenger instructed CNN they acquired two meal vouchers totaling $30 after the airplane landed in San Francisco.

There have been innumerable cases of passengers criticizing United Airways over service points—even inside the previous few days. This previous weekend, Mad Males star January Jones known as out United for providing $15 meals vouchers to compensate passengers for a 16-hour flight delay. Additionally, over the weekend, a lady took to TikTok to share how her 21-month-old son with advanced wants was handled by employees. Crew members and even the airplane’s captain allegedly demanded she take her son off his ventilator for takeoff, not understanding the gear was liable for preserving her son alive, and never accepting the medical paperwork she provided as proof of his situation. 

United Airways ranked No. 8 out of the highest 11 U.S. airways within the newest American Buyer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) survey. It was the one airline among the many record the place its buyer satisfaction rating in 2024 truly fell from 2023; all different airways noticed will increase.
