President Joe Biden will host President-elect Donald Trump for a standard postelection assembly within the Oval Workplace on Wednesday, the White Home stated Saturday.
Such a gathering is customary between the outgoing president and the incoming president, and is supposed partly to mark the beginning of a peaceable switch of energy below America’s democracy.
However Trump, a Republican, didn’t host Biden, a Democrat, for a sit-down after the 2020 election, when Trump misplaced his reelection bid.
Trump sought the presidency 4 years later, and this week he defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat. Trump is the primary former president to return to energy since Grover Cleveland regained the White Home within the 1892 election.
The White Home stated Biden referred to as Trump this previous Wednesday to congratulate him and invite him to fulfill within the Oval Workplace.
In a speech Thursday, Biden stated he had assured Trump “that I would direct my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. That’s what the American people deserve.”
Their upcoming assembly is ready for 11 a.m.
