WASHINGTON — Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis blasted President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter — saying Sunday that Biden “put his family ahead of the country” and that the transfer would “tarnish his reputation.”
The stinging rebuke from the attainable 2028 presidential contender got here as Biden, 82, flew to Angola for an official go to — limiting his publicity to questions concerning the pardon.
“While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country,” Polis, 49, tweeted.

Polis added: “Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.”
The primary son was convicted in June of a trio of gun felonies and pleaded responsible in September to $1.4 million in tax fraud on revenue from Chinese language and Ukrainian relationships through which he repeatedly concerned his father.
Polis is a self-made businessman who based ProFlowers earlier than serving as a congressman from 2009 to 2019 and as governor since 2019.
