Actor David Harbour says he‘s befuddled as to how anyone could oppose socialism.
Disney’s “Red Guardian” made the comments during a recent interview in support of the latest Marvel movie, “Black Widow.”
“I don’t know that there’s anyone who could disagree with socialist ideology,” Mr. Harbour told the Guardian newspaper. “If you work at Starbucks and you make the coffee, then you should own it. You’re the one making the coffee!”
The “Stranger Things” star went on to lament the bad rap given to communism due to its historical track record of police states, gulags, human rights abuses, and mass murder.
“The fact is that the implementation of these things has led to some of the deepest fascism in our society, so people assume that ‘communism’ means ‘fascism’ to a certain degree,” he said earlier this month. “That’s a terrible thing.”
Mr. Harbour‘s political ruminations with the pro-socialism British daily newspaper culminated with a call for adults to embrace “the idea of a kindergarten-type society where we share things.”
“[That] is my ideal society; as opposed to this world where we’re hunting and killing and destroying for our own personal hoarding, our own personal greed,” he said.
