James Corden’s love for Dr. Anthony Fauci during a musical vaccine tribute didn’t go over as intended with many viewers of CBS’ “The Late Late Show.”
The host’s “Hairspray”-inspired song with Ariana Grande and Marissa Jaret Winokur, which has tallied nearly 1.5 million views, was framed as state-run propaganda by critics.
“No lockdowns anymore!” Mr. Corden exclaims. “We can finally walk out the door! … Shout out to our favorite M.D. — Anthony Fauci!”

Supporters of the song focused on Ms. Grande as looking and sounding like a “Disney princess” and a “goddess.”
