Home Minority Chief Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) denounced the latest bomb threats in opposition to a number of Connecticut Democrats as “unacceptable” and maintained Home Democrats is not going to be intimidated from finishing up their jobs.

“America is a democracy. Threats of violence against elected officials are unacceptable, unconscionable and have no place in a civilized society,” Jeffries wrote in a press release Friday. “All perpetrators of political violence directed at any party must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

A number of members of the Connecticut congressional delegation confirmed they had been focused by bomb threats on their properties on Thanksgiving Day.

The Democrats focused included Reps. Jim Himes, John B. Larson, Jahana Hayes and Joe Courtney, and Sen. Chris Murphy, based on their places of work or native legislation enforcement.

Jeffries revealed the incidents ranged from threats of a pipe bomb positioned in mailboxes to swatting, every of which had been signed with “MAGA” on the finish of the message.

A White Home spokesperson confirmed President Biden was briefed on the incidents Thursday, and the FBI stated it was conscious of “numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees” and that it was “working with our law enforcement partners.”
