Rep. Susie Lee (D-Nev.) supplied to incoming members of Congress a one-sheet of ideas and perks as they put together to affix the legislative department.

“Between finding an apartment, setting up an office, orientation, getting to know people, elections, and hiring a staff, these first few weeks can be incredibly overwhelming,” she added. “In the 6 years that I have had the honor to serve, I have found a few things that provide some relief in an incredibly demanding job.”
Lee then listed perks and useful hints, together with the power for lawmakers to “schedule trips to the National Archives ‘treasure vault’ of historic records dating back to 1789,” advising them on timing on meals supply on Capitol Hill and telling them to go “on a walk every now and then.”
“Take time to appreciate the history of these hallowed grounds and the significance of the work we are called upon to do,” Lee mentioned in a remaining level.
