Starting Monday, fans at Capital One Arena will no longer be mandated to wear masks, Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced Tuesday.
The announcement from MSE, Ted Leonsis’ company that owns the Wizards, Capitals and Mystics, comes after D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said Tuesday that the city’s indoor mask mandate will be lifted Monday.
Masks can still be mandated in the District by any private business that wants to require them. At Capital One Arena, which is home to the Wizards, Capitals, Mystics and Georgetown men’s basketball, employees working games will still be mandated to wear masks.
Due to NBA rules, any fans at home Wizards games in “player-proximate seating areas” will also be required to wear masks, per MSE’s announcement.
