Adolfo Hohenstein (1854–1928) was a German-born Italian artist recognized for his contributions to Italian Artwork Nouveau, or Stile Liberty.
Usually referred to as the daddy of Italian poster artwork, he influenced promoting and theatrical design within the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His work with the Ricordi publishing home in Milan produced elegant posters for operas like Tosca and La Bohème, in addition to commercials that includes flowing strains and ornamental components. By means of his mentorship and progressive designs, Hohenstein helped form a distinctly Italian type of business artwork that thrived within the early twentieth century.
