Primark chief govt Paul Marchant has resigned following an organization investigation into his behaviour towards a girl “in a social environment”, the funds style chain’s proprietor Related British Meals introduced Monday.
His resignation, which takes fast impact, comes after he spent 16 years as Primark’s CEO, overseeing its enlargement in Europe and into the USA.
“Marchant cooperated with the investigation, acknowledged his error of judgement and accepts that his actions fell below the standards expected by ABF,” the corporate stated in a press release.
“He has made an apology to the individual concerned,” the group added.
ABF stated it continues to supply assist to the one who introduced his behaviour to its consideration.
The group didn’t instantly present additional particulars when contacted by AFP.
“I am immensely disappointed,” George Weston, chief govt of ABF, stated within the assertion.
