Gabe Taylor, the younger brother of late Washington Football Team star Sean Taylor, grabbed the game-winning interception to propel Rice to a victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
The interception came on the 14th anniversary of Sean Taylor’s death on Nov. 27, 2007.
Gabe Taylor, a freshman defensive back, intercepted Bulldogs quarterback JD Head with 19 seconds remaining to seal the 35-31 win. He slid after picking off the pass and was congratulated by his teammates.
Sean Taylor’s No. 21 jersey was retired by Washington earlier this season.
