Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head to White House

President Biden is set to host a celebration with the 2021 Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Tuesday morning at the White House, continuing a recent run of celebrations with title-winning athletes.

It’s unclear if one superstar will be in attendance with his teammates.

Administration officials have not said whether the attendees will include Tampa quarterback Tom Brady, who has missed several presidential team visits after winning previous Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Mr. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, last visited the White House in 2005, but skipped later visits under President Barack Obama and President Donald J. Trump.

Asked about Mr. Brady’s status on Monday, the White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, told reporters “I don’t have the list of Buccaneers attending tomorrow in front of me,” but promised to follow up. Officials had not released that list as of early Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday morning, a football writer for the Tampa Bay Times, Rick Stroud, wrote on Twitter that Mr. Brady had planned to visit the White House as of Monday.

The celebration for the Buccaneers is scheduled for the South Lawn of the White House, officials said, late Tuesday morning. Tampa Bay defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 earlier this year to win the N.F.L. crown.

Last month, Mr. Biden welcomed the World Series champion, the Los Angeles Dodgers, to the White House when the team was in town for a series against the Washington Nationals.
