Robert Griffin III isn’t the only former Washington Football Team player coming out with a media project about his time with the team.

A documentary about former Washington star Trent Williams will detail the left tackle’s fight with cancer and his journey back to playing in the NFL. “Silverback: The Trent Williams Story,” titled after Williams’ nickname, will be released on Dec. 14.

Williams, who now plays for San Francisco, was drafted in the first round by Washington in 2010 and was a seven-time Pro-Bowl left tackle for the Burgundy and Gold.

In January 2019, Williams was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma on his scalp. After missing the 2019 season, Williams, who blamed Washington’s medical staff for not properly diagnosing him, was traded to San Francisco.

Stay tuned for the #SILVERBACK 🦍

He returned to the field in 2020, earning a Pro-Bowl selection, and signed a six-year, $138-million contract with the 49ers this past offseason.

“In 2019, I walked through the fire,” Williams says in the trailer. “I’m on the other side of it now.”

Former Washington players Vernon Davis and Adrian Peterson, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, hip hop artist Lil Wayne, Williams’ doctors and Williams himself are shown in the documentary’s trailer.

“Silverback” can be pre-ordered on iTunes.
