Republican vice presidential nominee and Ohio Sen. JD Vance mentioned Sunday he’s “glad [former] President Trump is safe” in the wake of what the FBI has described as an obvious assassination try.
“I’m glad President Trump is safe,” Vance mentioned on the social platform X of the state of affairs, which the FBI mentioned it’s responding to. “I spoke to him before the news was public and he was, amazingly, in good spirits.”
“Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude,” the Ohio senator continued.
Earlier Sunday, Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, mentioned that “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity.” The Related Press reported that in Florida, the Secret Service fired pictures towards anyone considered as a doable risk within the former president’s neighborhood.
“I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America,” Vice President Harris mentioned Sunday on X.
Trump mentioned in a fundraising electronic mail that he “will NEVER SURRENDER” within the wake of the incident.
“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” the previous president mentioned within the electronic mail despatched Sunday.
“Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me,” Trump continued.
