The Blind, 1879
Nikolai Alexandrovich Yaroshenko (1846–1898) was a Russian painter of Ukrainian descent and a outstanding member of the Peredvizhniki, or Wanderers, from 1876.
Generally known as “the conscience of the Itinerants” for his integrity, he retired as a Main Common in 1892. Yaroshenko’s works, together with portraits and style work, usually depicted the hardships of life within the Russian Empire, and he grew to become a number one determine in Jap European realism in the course of the late nineteenth century.
